North Georgia Eye Associates announces the addition of ophthalmologist Dr. Zach Balest to its staff.
The Gainesville native recently completed his ophthalmology residency at Emory University in Atlanta. Earlier, he served a transitional internship at Baptist Health System in Birmingham, Ala. Balest is a 2014 graduate of the Medical College of Georgia/University of Georgia Medical Partnership.
At Gainesville Eye, Balest plans to focus on assisting patients with cataract and refractive surgery, medical and surgical management of glaucoma and diabetic eye care.
A summa cum laude graduate of the University of North Georgia, he is also a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery and Georgia Society of Ophthalmology.
Balest enjoys spending time with family and friends, playing golf, spending time outdoors and watching UGA football.
