BOTOX Treatment & Fillers

Fillers

Do your lips look thin? Are your cheeks lacking their fullness?

Fillers and neuromodulators are injectables that can help improve your appearance, depending on what you choose. At North Georgia Eye Associates, we offer the following:

Juvéderm Voluma

Fillers like Juvéderm can help restore volume and fullness to the skin. Juvéderm is a non-surgical option containing hyaluronic acid, naturally occurring in the body, and helps deliver volume to the skin.

It also temporarily restores any volume loss beneath the surface of the skin. Five formulas are available in the Juvéderm collection of fillers, depending on if you want to improve loss of jawline definition, improve volume in the cheeks, improve the appearance of undereye hollows, or increase volume in the lips.

Laser Procedures

SmartXide CO2

SmartXide CO2 laser system uses a carbon dioxide-based ablative laser and features a technologically advanced Dermal Optical Thermolysis (DOT) Scanner with Infinite Delivery Options. The CO2 Laser is our most invasive treatment, offering a better advantage to resurfacing the skin than other treatments like peels or micro-needling.

This therapy, performed at our practice exclusively by Dr. Brent Hayek, is excellent for treating pigmentation, skin laxity, textural imperfections, wrinkles, and acne scars. It improves fine lines, skin texture, skin tone, and smoothness.

Patients may choose to have two to three treatments to achieve their goals, but this will depend on each patient. You can treat the face in only 15-30 minutes, with results lasting for several years when proper skin care and protection are followed.\

CoolSculpting

The CoolSculpting fat-freezing procedure is an FDA-cleared, non-surgical, fat-reduction treatment that uses controlled cooling to eliminate stubborn fat. Stubborn fat is the kind that resists your efforts through diet and exercise.

The CoolSculpting procedure eliminates stubborn fat safely and effectively without surgery or downtime. The results are proven, noticeable, and lasting, so you’ll look better from every angle. After we select the area(s) to be treated, the device is positioned on your body, and controlled cooling is applied.

IPL Photofacial

A photofacial, or “fotofacial,” is a one-hour procedure in which intense light pulses penetrate deep into the skin. IPL™ photorejuvenation causes collagen and blood vessels below the epidermis to constrict, reducing redness and age lines.

The procedure involves minimal discomfort, while the redness and swelling that sometimes occur after treatment disappears shortly. Most benefits of a photofacial/fotofacial occur gradually in the weeks following treatment.

Laser Hair Removal

A safe and often permanent procedure exists for the treatment of unwanted hair. Lasers can now quickly and comfortably remove hair from the face, back, arms, legs, bikini line, and other areas.

Laser hair removal is priced by the area at an in-office consultation and is offered as a single treatment or in a series of 4 or 6 treatments.

Chemical Peels

Jessner’s Peels

A Jessner peel is a medium-depth chemical peel that helps improve skin health by removing and healing skin damage that is more extensive than regular “wear and tear.” This skin care treatment is stronger than most superficial chemical peels and is ideal for acne-prone skin.
It consists of 14% lactic acid (which assists in the exfoliation of the skin), salicylic acid (which aids in penetration), and resorcinol (which helps in the treatment of acne). It is topped with 0.3% retinoic acid as tolerated.

TCA Combo Peel

The TCA Combo Peel is a medium-deep peel that addresses fine lines, wrinkles, pigmentation (hydroquinone and vitamin C), and overall skin rejuvenation. It contains 10% TCA, 5% Vitamin C, 14% Lactic and salicylic acids, 2% phenol, and 2% hydroquinone.

It is also topped with 0.3% retinoic acid as tolerated.

Botox

Botox is the first and only FDA-approved method for temporarily treating the appearance of frown lines, crow’s feet, and forehead lines in adults. Botox works below the skin’s surface to reduce muscle activity, causing lines and wrinkles on the face.

Repeated muscle contractions due to squinting, frowning, or raising your eyebrows can cause your skin to furrow and fold, slowly forming lines and wrinkles. By choosing Botox, you can temporarily reduce their appearance, making you look younger and more vibrant.

Botox treatments can take 30 days to see full results that last up to 4 months before requiring further maintenance. Botox uses a neurotoxin called botulin to help freeze wrinkles and fine lines on your face. When applied by an expert like Dr. Hayek at North Georgia Eye Associates, results look subtle and natural and help you feel like yourself again.

Medical Conditions Treated by BOTOX

Hemifacial Spasm

Hemifacial spasm (HFS) is a neurological disorder. Patients with hemifacial spasms may experience twitching on one side of their face due to involuntary contractions of the eyelids and other facial muscles.

It may start slowly around one eye before spreading to other muscles around the mouth and neck on the same side of the face. Hemifacial spasm is usually not painful, but they may impact your vision due to the involuntary closing of the eye.

Blepharospasm

Blepharospasm is a neurologic disorder that causes uncontrollable muscle movements. These muscle movements lead to dystonia, which occurs when the eyelids close or have difficulty staying open, making it more challenging to see.

Blepharospasm begins with uncontrollable eyelid twitching or spasms that come and go. These spasms usually start gradually and worsen over time.

As blepharospasm progresses, you may start experiencing constant blinking. The opening between your eyelids may also narrow.

Depending on the severity of your symptoms, Dr. Hayek may recommend Botox injections. Using Botox helps weaken the eye muscles’ ability to twitch and spasm.

He may also recommend a surgical procedure called myectomy to remove some or all overactive eye muscles.

Midface Advancement

Midface advancement, also called a midface osteotomy, is a surgical procedure that repositions bones in the middle of the face. It’s often used to treat and correct facial deformities, which may include having a difference in growth in the cheekbones, jaw, and eye sockets.

Having this can make breathing more challenging, affect your ability to see, and impact the harmony of your face. The procedure involves creating an incision in the mouth along the upper jaw.

Dr. Hayek will then detach the bones in the middle of the face, including the cheekbones, those in the upper jaw, and sometimes those around the eye sockets. He will then reposition these bones and put them in their new positions with surgical hardware like screws or plates.Learn more about the oculoplastics and aesthetic procedures available by scheduling an appointment at North Georgia Eye Associates today!
